| In recent years the marine ecosystem around Bahrain has been subjected to
enormous stress as a result of increasing land reclamation and fishing act
ivities. More recent, the impact on the marine environment has been intensifying to such an alarming level that it is threatening the very well being
and existence of the already fragile marine ecosystem.The objective of MARGIS is to develop and maintain an online Marine Environmental Geographical Information System (GIS) to be used as a tool for planning, decision, awareness and for education purposes. |
